Little Feet
“Little Feet,” the newest single release from The Stoffs, finds frontman Eric Stoff pondering his future. In a decade or two, he foresees himself “squinting to remember” the smallest details of his children’s first years of life.
“Baby years and toddler years are tough, but there is also so much joy in there,” Stoff said. “I always struggle with living in the present and soaking up a moment before it becomes a memory. That’s what Little Feet is about — my attempts to relish the toddler years, because I know that someday, I will wish I could have them back.”
Music for the song was written while the Stoff family was visiting White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, and the lyrics were inspired by the photo that is on the album artwork — Eric’s oldest daughter running across the sugary-white sand, suspended in air. And several of the percussion tracks are sampled sound from the park itself — Eric smacking the sand with his palm was sampled into the “kick drum,” and rustling dune grass became the “shaker” sound.
